Email update from Day 2 of Momo taking care of Charlie while Bridget is away

The squirrels were out in force in the neighborhood and Charlie greeted each and everyone like a long lost friend. It is entirely possible that he extended a dinner invitation to one and all because there was much animated talk on his part.

Charlie woke up from his nap in a great mood and requested that Ducky sing You are My Sunshine 8 consecutive times.  Charlie has fully recovered, but, I, however, have the song ringing in my brain!

Charlie has mastered the art of parallel play. He was wonderful with sharing his toys and if Ollie or Eli happen to touch one that he preferred they not, he simply acknowledged the gaffe and moved on.  There wasn't a single meltdown on anyone's part for the entire 2 hours until the departure when Ollie wanted to wear Rachel's shoes home.  The meltdown was Ollie's, not Rachel's,but it was a close call as to which one was more put out.

Charlie is a decision maker and it will be interesting to see if this changes as he matures.  In the meantime, he is quite definite with his nods and grunts. By the way, he does not want potatoes or peppers so forget even trying!

I have time to write this because he is exploring a basket of very noisy toys at my feet.  You do have a plethora of little sound machines masquerading as toys in this house.

I made a very fragrant tomato soup --which I hope tastes as food as it smells --for dinner tonight.
And the rice machine arrived much to Charlie's delight because he can crawl into the box which has provided endless fun.  I made you Harissa rice with sundried tomatoes and peppers and kidney beans for your lunch tomorrow.

All is good,but I can't believe it isn't even 3:00 yet!!!!!
